Flagship Smartphone Market in Indonesia increases
Mobile phone Rp 2-3 million most dominate the market in Indonesia. Nevertheless the premium mobile market continues to increase.
It was revealed So Djien Gie, Vice President of IT & Mobile Samsung Electronics Indonesia after the launch of Galaxy Note 8 in Jakarta, Monday (25/09/2017).
Gie discloses data from GFK research institute. Last year, the flagship mobile phone segment reached 12%. Based on data released July 2017, the premium mobile phone market rose to 15-16%.
Seeing that, it continues to supply its premium devices to the country soon after being introduced globally. This method seems quite powerful to make Samsung the ruler of the market in Indonesia.
"Currently our market share in the premium mobile phone segment reaches 70%, but overall Samsung controls 52% of the market," claims Gie.
With the presence of Galaxy Note 8, Samsung is optimistic the market share in the premium segment will go up. Because pre order phablet this exceeds the target they have set and even surpass the Galaxy S8 sold last April.
